BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING

BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING

My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today, we gather to reflect on a message that can fundamentally transform our faith and daily lives: “You are blessed; that is why blessings must come.” This profound truth is not just an affirmation of God’s goodness to us but also a sacred call to action.

Let us turn to Genesis 12:2, where God makes a promise to Abraham: “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” Notice that God’s Blessing unto Abraham does not stop with him. It extends beyond him, calling him to be a conduit of blessing to others.

Our modern world often conditions us to see blessings as personal rewards, reserved for our enjoyment and comfort. Yet, in God’s Economy, blessings are more than just gifts to be received—they are gifts to be given. When God blesses you, He entrusts you with a mission: to bless others in return.

Think about the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis. Despite the adversity he faced, Joseph remained steadfast, and God blessed him abundantly. Joseph did not hoard his blessings; instead, he became a source of sustenance and salvation for an entire nation during a devastating famine. Likewise, each blessing we receive is an opportunity to reflect God’s love and goodness to the world around us.

It’s crucial to recognize that blessings are not always material wealth or physical comforts. Sometimes, blessings come in intangible forms like wisdom, peace, and love. These blessings can create a ripple effect, touching lives in ways we could never imagine.

As we leave this holy space today, let us commit ourselves to the beautiful responsibility that comes with being blessed. Let us ask God for the grace to open our hearts, eyes, and hands—to recognize the blessings we’ve received and to earnestly seek ways to bless others. Only then can we truly fulfil the divine purpose behind our blessings and make our lives a testament to God’s boundless Love and Generosity. Amen Hallelujah!

JESUS IS LORD
