ON “THE UNNAMED FISHERMEN”

ON “THE UNNAMED FISHERMEN”

One could ask several questions on why the Scripture could opt for unnamed individuals in their relationship with Christ Jesus! Is it about the fame or the impact? In John 21:3, “And two others of His disciples:” Yes, there were ‘two others’, and they are unidentified! Why unnamed though consciously in my assertion. They represent the anonymous and hidden multitudes of faithful souls whose names are never published in human documents and whose deeds are never reported in human reports. To these, He manifested Himself as indeed as to the others. Jesus also revealed Himself to the unnamed! Those ‘two others’ represented the majority of the saints. Yes, what matters essentially is being faithful and not necessarily being known for “…God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The LORD knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the LORD must turn away from evil.” (2 Timothy 2:19, NLT).
