ON “GETHSEMANE’S GOOD FRIDAY”

Gethsemane’s Prayer invites the exchange between God and us. Paul encourages us to pray without expiring 1 Thessalonians 5:16 so that we may build that relationship with the Lord to know Him, trust Him, and connect with Him all the more. The teaching of ceaseless prayer has the authority of Christ Jesus right from the Gethsemane! I take Good Friday from this level of blessings. When we consider Jesus’ words in Gethsemane and later, during His trial and on the cross itself, we realise that all other words become meaningless in comparison. What does it matter what we call it if we do not forget that it happened? As long as we fully appreciate Christ Jesus’ love for us, we are alive to God’s love in ceaseless prayer! Even with our knowledge of the whole picture described by the Gospels – that we are still sleepy, despite being saved – are you still sleeping? We must be alive perpetually to the love that saved us – as long as we seek the courage of being alive always to Jesus Christ’s love and to the fact of His taking the cup, which we could not have survived. That’s it!!!
