Here it is, a thirst for righteousness: “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.” (Psalm 42:1, ESV). Believers must long for complete termination of sin and any associated awful harvest. The conviction of sin, righteousness, and judgment characterise the move of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life. In salvation, the Holy Spirit takes up His residence within a believer’s life as God’s child; in turn, the Holy Spirit causes believers to set their minds on the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:1-8; Colossians 3:1-3).
