Surely, God forgive you for past mistakes and failures, and you must acknowledge and run with this knowledge that God has forgiven you. But where does this sense of unworthiness comes from, as though you don’t deserve it? It’s a chain of shame, and that shame has held you back long enough. The strongholds have been broken. Yes, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4, NIV). Because your shame is broken, your burdens have been lifted. God is saying, “Shame off you!” Now you have to get into agreement with Him. Resign from giving attention to the accusing voices. Cease believing the lies that you have to settle for second best. God’s mercy was there for you before you made a mistake. It’s time for you to shake off the shame, to shake off the guilt. Yes, this is a new you that God is lifting, the new normal for you. That’s it!!!
