1. “By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. By faith, we understand that the universe was created by the word of God so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

2 “Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. For “‘In him, we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.”

3 ““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.”

4 “And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
