ON “LEARNING GENEROSITY”

ON “LEARNING GENEROSITY”

John Wesley said: “Do all the good you can; by all the means you can; in all the ways you can; in all the places you can; at all the times you can; to all the people you can; as long as ever you can.” Yes, it is all about you can and as ever as you can. Naturally, you have more generosity in you than the pride you crave. Therefore, charity isn’t the responsibility or privilege of the wealthy alone, but all people, regardless of social or financial status. Notably, practicing charity is not ever a usual practice among the wealthiest people I know; it is near as strikingly as with those I’ve known who live in a state of material poverty and insecurity – you don’t have to be wealthy to be generous!  “Watch out and guard yourselves against every kind of greed; because your true life is not made up of the things you own, no matter how rich you may be.” (Luke 12:15, GNT)
