ON “THE TRUTH BY THE WAY”

ON “THE TRUTH BY THE WAY”

Scripturally put, Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; so how can we know the way to get there?” Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me. Now that you have known me,” he said to them, “you will know my Father also, and from now on you do know him and you have seen him.” (John 14:6-7GNT)

ON “GRATITUDE AS A DISCIPLINE”

ON “GRATITUDE AS A DISCIPLINE”

Henri J. M. Nouwen said: “Gratitude is not a simple emotion or an obvious attitude. It is a difficult discipline to constantly reclaim my whole past as the concrete way in which God has led me to this moment and is sending me into the future. It is hard precisely because it challenges me to face the painful moments – experiences of rejection and abandonment, feelings of loss and failure – and gradually to discover in them the pruning hands…

ON “DECEITFUL HEARTS”

ON “DECEITFUL HEARTS”

In Proverbs 17:20; “He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.” Indeed, the one loaded up with double-dealing will discover debasement and misdirection in others. Without a doubt, insidious and stupid words, not just a presentation of the evil of somebody’s heart, they additionally lead them into greater sin.

ON “WONDROUS WORKS”

ON “WONDROUS WORKS”

You are a witness of His wondrous works! Christ will lift you and your family with countless miraculous happenings. Keep giving thanks: “Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord.” (1 Chronicles 16:8-18NLT). Yes, you will have His wonderful deeds to proclaim. That’s it!!!

ON “A BATTLEFIELD”

ON “A BATTLEFIELD”

Kurt Armstrong said: “I have inherited chronic depression through my mother’s side, but I have no doubt that part of it was, and continues to be, a genuinely spiritual issue: that having pledged my allegiance to Jesus Christ I was no longer wandering around in the no-man’s-land between the warring armies of good and evil. I had picked my side. Baptism marked me as one of Christ’s own and, therefore, an enemy of the forces of evil.”

ON “DEVOID OF UNDERSTANDING”

ON “DEVOID OF UNDERSTANDING”

Have you not heard that a person devoid of understanding shakes hands in a pledge and becomes surety for a friend? (Proverbs 17:18). Wisdom guaranteed that foolish partnerships will always yield failures. Stop engaging in unwise partnership! It is responsive enough to honour our obligations. Wisdom warns us against putting up with a commitment to the deficits of others. Be responsible always by ridding yourself of any foolish partnership. That’s it!!!

ON “YOU ARE NOT A DROP OUT”

ON “YOU ARE NOT A DROP OUT”

Your spirit personality is too loaded to drop out of God’s plan of security and safety for His people. Hear this from our Lord Jesus: “While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost, except the one who had to be lost. This happened so that what the Scriptures say would come true. I do not ask you to take them out of…

ON “RESOLUTE OBEDIENCE”

ON “RESOLUTE OBEDIENCE”

Eberhard Arnold said: “God’s clear demand is for our complete obedience in faith. We should go through fire and water to do what he says. So let us not fool ourselves! Our words and prayers, our churchgoing or attendance at meetings, our charity and philanthropy will show that our life is lived in God only when our faith is genuine enough to make us hand ourselves over to God in resolute obedience. Deeds, not words and feelings, are the test…

ON “THE PURCHASE PRICE OF WISDOM”

ON “THE PURCHASE PRICE OF WISDOM”

Why is there in the hand of a fool the purchase price of wisdom (Proverbs 17:16). Undoubtedly, Wisdom has a price. In this context, a fool could be a joke. Solomon envisioned a fool who was prepared to address that cost. It’s about reasonableness, and readiness to pay. Scripturally, the price of wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. The price of wisdom also includes modesty and eagerness to receive correction. The fool has no enthusiasm for acquiring wisdom in the manner that it must be…

ON “WHAT IS GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE”

ON “WHAT IS GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE”

Yes, things could be useful but not acceptable in the sight of God! For example, with how to pray, the Scriptures said: “First of all, I ask you to pray for everyone. Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them. Pray for kings and others in power, so that we may live quiet and peaceful lives as we worship and honor God. This kind of prayer is good, and it pleases…
