CAC Nigeria and Overseas at the Threshold of Divine Correction: Wandering Stars, Rebellion, and the Betrayal of the Covenant By Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas

The Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas stands today at a decisive moment in its prophetic journey. The Holy Spirit has spoken with unmistakable clarity, warning that the era of ecclesiastical politics, factional manipulation, and deceptive dominance has ended. Since the General Executive Council (GEC) rebellion against the constituted authority culminated in 1990, the Church has endured decades of wandering stars—modern Pharisees, Sadducees, and Zealots—ravaging leadership, distorting history, and betraying the Calling of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.

These wandering stars have played politics with the sacred, manipulated documents, forcefully acquired Church buildings, and orchestrated factional dominance under the deceptive banner of “we are the mainstream, and we are more than them.” But the Holy Spirit keeps saying that era has now closed. Their numbers are fading. Their influence is evaporating. Their strategies are collapsing. Their dominance is ending. Politics in CAC Nigeria and Overseas, orchestrated by the GEC to dominate the authentic Supreme Council, has no place in the Kingdom, and as such, it cannot occupy until Christ comes in the Digital Era.

At the first CAC Nigeria and Overseas Lady Evangelists Training and Conference, during the inauguration of the CAC Lady Evangelists Central Choir, I warned the factions—especially the GEC and the Supreme Executive—that whoever rebels against the Calling ultimately betrays the Covenant. That warning stands today with even greater urgency.

The Babajide Pressure of 1983: When Human Influence Interrupted Divine Order and Blocked Baba Olutimehin

The leadership crisis of CAC Nigeria and Overseas did not begin in 1990. Its roots stretch back to 1983, when the Holy Spirit gave a clear directive regarding succession—but human pressure interfered. Many people today do not realise, or choose not to remember, that the Holy Spirit had positioned Baba Olutimehin to succeed Baba E. T. Latunde as the next President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas. This was the divine order. This was the covenantal alignment. This was the next step in the Calling of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.

But unholy pressure descended upon Baba Babajide.

Certain elders, driven by political ambition, personal influence, and factional interests, exerted intense pressure on Baba Babajide to confirm Baba Orogun instead. This pressure was not spiritual; it was political. It was not prophetic; it was manipulative. It was not covenantal; it was carnal. And under that pressure, Baba Babajide—despite his deep reverence for the Calling—was pushed into a decision that contradicted the Holy Spirit’s directive.

This moment remains one of the most painful turning points in CAC’s leadership history. It was the first major instance where human politics overruled divine instruction. It was the first time the voice of elders overshadowed the voice of the Spirit. It was the first time ambition drowned obedience. And it became the seedbed for the rebellion that matured into the full‑blown crisis of 1990.

The Holy Spirit’s directive was not followed.

The consequences have echoed for forty years.

The Medaiyese Mystery: When the Holy Spirit Permits Instead of Insists

The story of Baba J. A. Medaiyese remains one of the most profound and instructive moments in the leadership history of CAC Nigeria and Overseas. His refusal to become the 3rd President of the mission was not an act of weakness, nor a withdrawal from responsibility; it was an act of deep spiritual intelligence, covenantal sensitivity, and servant‑leadership maturity. Baba Medaiyese did not decline out of fear or reluctance—he declined because the Holy Spirit did not insist.

There are moments in Scripture when God insists on a leader—Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Paul. In such cases, resistance becomes disobedience. But there are also moments when God permits a leader to step aside because His sovereign plan requires a different configuration of timing, temperament, and transition. Baba Medaiyese belonged to the latter category.

He had reached the point of completion of his earthly assignment. Insisting on his presidency would have created a short-lived administration, leading to financial strain, administrative instability, and another transition within a short period. The Holy Spirit does not insist on leadership that increases burden. Jesus Himself said: “My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Baba Medaiyese was a revivalist, a missionary, a spiritual father. But the next phase of CAC’s journey required a stabiliser. Baba E. T. Latunde, who succeeded him, was that stabiliser. The Holy Spirit sometimes shifts from revival fire to administrative order depending on the season.

His humility, simplicity, and refusal to replace his ageing Peugeot car symbolised his rejection of ecclesiastical ostentation. His life testified that true greatness in ministry is not measured by possessions but by sacrifice, humility, integrity, and unwavering devotion to Christ.

His legacy challenges today’s leaders to lead with humility, finish well, and place God’s kingdom above personal interests.

Straightening the Record: Truth Must Replace Propaganda

It is time to straighten the record, because many people today are on the wrong side of CAC’s history. Truth does not change because of opinions, sentiments, or propaganda. Historical facts remain facts, regardless of how people attempt to rewrite or distort them.

The Supreme Executive broke away in 2017.

The GEC completed the foremost assault in 1990.

These are historical facts. They are documented realities.

By God’s grace, the authentic Supreme Council of CAC Nigeria and Overseas—having its Secretariat at 100 Adesola Street, Aperin Oniyere, Ibadan—remains intact and remains the authentic Supreme Council. It is the root. It is the foundation. It is the covenantal anchor of CAC’s identity.

That is why I said, and continue to say:

“Whoever rebels against the Calling ultimately betrays the Covenant.”

The Root and the Branches: A Covenant Analogy

Can anyone honestly say that the root broke away from the branches? No. It is always the branches that separate themselves from the root. The root remains the source, the foundation, and the lifeline from which the branches derive their existence and sustenance.

The Supreme Council is the root.

The GEC and Supreme Executive are branches that have separated themselves.

Jesus Himself taught that branches disconnected from the vine wither and die. The same principle applies to ecclesiastical order. Branches cannot survive without the root. Factions cannot survive without covenantal authority. Rebellion cannot survive without truth.

Why Political Strategies Cannot Stand in This Age

The political strategies of the GEC cannot stand today because they did not stand in the early Church. The apostolic era reveals that political manoeuvring, factional dominance, and administrative rebellion never survived the scrutiny of the Holy Spirit.

Ananias and Sapphira attempted deception; the Spirit exposed them.

Simon the Sorcerer attempted to purchase influence; the apostles rebuked him.

Diotrephes attempted administrative dominance; John condemned him.

Factional doctrine attempted to divide the Church; the Jerusalem Council upheld truth over politics.

These examples reveal a consistent pattern: political strategies fail in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Factional dominance collapses under apostolic truth. Manipulation cannot survive divine scrutiny.

This is why the political manoeuvring of the GEC cannot stand in this age. The Digital Era is an era of transparency, accountability, and spiritual awakening. It is an era in which truth travels faster than manipulation. It is an era in which deception cannot survive. It is an era in which the Ancient Landmark must be restored.

Prophetic Implication for Today: Why the Holy Spirit Must Now Intervene by Mercy to Collapse the Factions and Restore One Fold, One Shepherd

The present condition of CAC Nigeria and Overseas demands not merely administrative reform but divine intervention. The Holy Spirit must now, by mercy, collapse every faction, dismantle every rebellious structure, and heal CAC Mat so that the Church may return to the covenantal identity of One Fold One Shepherd—the identity established in the 1943 era under the apostolic mantle of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.

The Holy Spirit must intervene because the factions have reached the end of their prophetic allowance. Their numbers are fading. Their influence is evaporating. Their strategies are collapsing. Their dominance is ending. The Spirit of God is dismantling false altars, exposing divided hearts, and calling His Church back to covenant obedience.

The Holy Spirit must intervene because the Church cannot heal itself. The wounds of rebellion are too deep. The distortions of history are too entrenched. The manipulation of documents is too widespread. The scattering of the flock is too severe. Only the mercy of God can collapse the factions and restore the unity of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit must intervene because CAC Nigeria and Overseas must return to the Ancient Landmark. The 1943 era was not merely a constitutional moment; it was a covenantal moment. It was the era of One Fold, One Shepherd. It was the era of apostolic purity. It was the era of revival fire. It was the era when the Church walked in divine order, not human politics.

The Holy Spirit must intervene because CAC Nigeria and Overseas must experience a divine, innovative power of revival for these days. The revival of the 1930s cannot sustain the Church in the 2020s. The fire of Babalola must be rekindled with fresh oil. The apostolic mantle must be restored with new strength. The prophetic voice must be revived with new clarity. The Church must be re‑anointed for the digital generation.

The Holy Spirit must intervene because mercy is the only path left. Justice would destroy the factions. Judgement would scatter the flock. But mercy will heal the Church. Mercy will restore unity. Mercy will revive the fire. Mercy will re‑establish divine order. Mercy will bring CAC Nigeria and Overseas back to the place where the Holy Spirit originally positioned it.

The era of rebellion is closing.

The era of covenant restoration is beginning.

The era of One Fold One Shepherd is returning.

The era of divine revival power is here.

Conclusion: The Covenant Shall Stand

The story of Baba Medaiyese teaches us that leadership in CAC Nigeria and Overseas is not determined by ambition, numbers, or politics. It is determined by the Holy Spirit. It is shaped by covenant. It is guided by Calling. It is anchored in the Ancient Landmark.

If Medaiyese’s humility shaped the past, Olutimehin’s obedience may shape the future.

May the Holy Spirit collapse the factions, heal CAC Mat, restore unity, and re‑anoint CAC Nigeria and Overseas with the fire of revival for this generation.

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.
