Since the culmination of the rebellion of the General Executive Council (GEC) against the constituted authority of the Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas in 1990, the Supreme Council has stood as the lawful, constitutional, and ecclesiastical custodian of CAC’s identity. Yet for more than three decades, the GEC has played politics of the most corrosive kind—politics marked by deceptive actions, falsification of documents, forceful acquisition of Church buildings, manipulation of historical narratives, and the orchestration of factional dominance. This line of politics, sustained from the 1990s till date, selectively gave them what they now assert: “we are the mainstream, and we are more than them.”

But the Holy Spirit keeps saying that era has now closed. The numbers they rely on are fading. The influence they boast of is evaporating. The structures they have built on political manoeuvring are collapsing. The age of ecclesiastical politics in CAC Nigeria and Overseas is over. The Kingdom does not recognise such strategies, and the Spirit of God will not sustain them. Politics in the CAC Nigeria and Overseas orchestrated by the GEC to dominate the Supreme Council has no place in the Kingdom, and as such, it cannot occupy until Christ comes in the Digital Era.

To understand why such strategies cannot stand today, we must look back to the early Church. The physical era of the apostolic Church reveals that political manoeuvring, factional dominance, and administrative rebellion never survived the scrutiny of the Holy Spirit. The early Church was repeatedly confronted by individuals and groups who attempted to manipulate structures, distort doctrine, or assert dominance through numbers. Yet every such attempt collapsed under the weight of divine truth.

The Early Church and the Failure of Political Strategies

In Acts 5, Ananias and Sapphira attempted to manipulate the apostolic community through deception. They sought influence through falsehood. They wanted recognition without righteousness. Their strategy failed instantly, for the Holy Spirit exposed their deceit and judged them publicly. Their political manoeuvre collapsed because the Spirit of God does not sustain structures built on lies.

In Acts 8, Simon the Sorcerer attempted to purchase spiritual authority. He wanted to control the movement of the Spirit through political leverage. Peter rebuked him sharply: “Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.” Simon’s strategy failed because spiritual authority cannot be acquired through manipulation.

In Acts 15, certain men attempted to impose factional doctrine on the Church, insisting that Gentile believers must be circumcised. Their political agenda threatened to divide the Church. The apostles confronted the matter, not through numbers or influence, but through truth. The Jerusalem Council rejected the factional doctrine and upheld the unity of the Church. The political strategy failed because truth prevailed.

In 3 John, Diotrephes attempted to dominate the Church through administrative control. He rejected apostolic authority, expelled brethren, and manipulated the congregation. John rebuked him sharply, declaring that such behaviour was evil and unsustainable. Diotrephes’ strategy failed because the early Church recognised that political dominance is incompatible with spiritual leadership.

These examples reveal a consistent pattern: political strategies fail in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Factional dominance collapses under apostolic truth. Manipulation cannot survive divine scrutiny. Numbers do not determine legitimacy. Influence does not determine authority. Truth alone prevails.

This is why the political manoeuvring of the GEC cannot stand in this age. The Digital Era is an era of transparency, accountability, and spiritual awakening. It is an era in which the Holy Spirit exposes deception instantly. It is an era in which truth travels faster than manipulation. It is an era in which the Kingdom of God advances through righteousness, not politics. It is an era in which the Ancient Landmark must be restored.

The Ancient Landmark and the End of Ecclesiastical Politics

The Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas must return to the Ancient Landmark. This is not a nostalgic appeal; it is a covenantal imperative. The Ancient Landmark is the foundation laid by the Holy Spirit through the revival of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the constitutional order established in 1943, the legal identity affirmed in 1985, and the ecclesiastical authority of One Fold One Shepherd. It is the landmark of truth, holiness, discipline, and apostolic fire.

The GEC has attempted to redraw this landmark. They have staged a false centenary in 2018. They have misused 1918 as a deceptive historical anchor. They have ignored court orders. They have occupied Anlugbua unlawfully. They have resisted constitutional truth. They have rejected ecclesiastical authority. They have divided the flock. They have scattered the sheep.

But Scripture warns: “Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.” (Proverbs 22:28). The Ancient Landmark is not a suggestion; it is a divine boundary. To move it is to invite judgement. To distort it is to provoke God. To ignore it is to scatter the flock.

Paul’s Rebuke to Corinth: The Evil of Divisions

In 1 Corinthians 1:10–25, Paul confronts the divisions tearing the Corinthian church apart. He appeals to them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that they all speak the same thing, that there be no divisions among them, and that they be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement. Paul rebukes them sharply: “Is Christ divided?” His message was clear—division is not a sign of strength but of carnality. It is not a mark of spiritual maturity but of spiritual immaturity. It is not a demonstration of loyalty but of rebellion.

Paul’s rebuke applies directly to the GEC faction. Their refusal to yield to the Holy Spirit’s call for unity, truth, and repentance is a manifestation of the same Corinthian spirit of division. Their insistence on factional identity, their manipulation of history, their distortion of CAC’s constitutional foundation, and their unlawful occupation of properties reveal a leadership more committed to factional dominance than to the unity of Christ.

Paul declares that Christ did not send him to baptise but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. The GEC has relied on the wisdom of words—legal manoeuvres, administrative rhetoric, historical distortions, and political strategies. But the cross of Christ is made of none effect when truth is sacrificed for convenience.

Paul continues: “The preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” The refusal of the GEC faction to submit to truth is not intellectual disagreement; it is spiritual foolishness. It is rebellion against the power of God.

The Holy Spirit’s Verdict: The Era of Politics Has Closed

The Holy Spirit keeps saying that the era of ecclesiastical politics in CAC Nigeria and Overseas has closed. The numbers the GEC relies on are fading. Their influence is evaporating. Their structures are collapsing. Their strategies are failing. Their dominance is ending. The Spirit of God is dismantling false altars, exposing divided hearts, and calling His Church back to covenant obedience.

The Digital Era is an era of divine exposure. It is an era in which truth cannot be hidden. It is an era in which deception cannot survive. It is an era in which the Holy Spirit restores the Ancient Landmark and re‑establishes apostolic order.

Conclusion: The Covenant Shall Stand

The Christ Apostolic Church was born in revival. It must be restored in truth. And it will be sustained by the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The political strategies of the GEC cannot stand in this age because they did not stand in the early Church. They cannot stand in the Digital Era. They cannot stand in the Kingdom of God. They cannot stand against the Ancient Landmark. They cannot stand against the Holy Spirit.

May the Lord grant CAC Nigeria and Overseas courage to stand for truth, humility to embrace repentance, and grace to walk in the light, so that the Church may rise again in purity, power, and prophetic integrity under the eternal Lordship of Jesus Christ.
