PUBLIC REFLECTION: WHEN TRUTH SPEAKS, THE CHURCH MUST LISTEN By Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola General Evangelist, CAC Nigeria & Overseas
In the past few days, I have engaged in a sincere and respectful exchange with a brother in the faith, Mr John Agbaje, concerning the ongoing conversation about truth, repentance, and unity within Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas.
After a robust Scriptural dialogue, he concluded with these words:
“Let us rest the whole argument on the fact that, eventually, the TRUTH will prevail because it is the only thing that God will back up.”
On this, we are in full agreement.
And for the sake of believers worldwide who follow this page, I want to share a brief reflection that will enhance your understanding, strengthen your walk with God, and ensure that your prayers are not hindered.
1. TRUTH IS NOT A DEBATE — TRUTH IS A PERSON
The Bible does not present truth as an opinion, an argument, or a factional position.
Truth is a Person.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” — John 14:6
Truth is not what we prefer.
Truth is not what we defend.
Truth is not what we negotiate.
Truth is Christ Himself.
And because Christ cannot lie, truth cannot be relative.
“Thy word is truth.” — John 17:17
Where truth stands, God stands.
Where truth rises, God rises.
Where truth speaks, God speaks.
2. TRUTH IS ABSOLUTE — NOT SUBJECT TO OPINION
In a generation where many want to redefine Scripture, the Bible remains unshaken:
“Forever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven.” — Psalm 119:89
Truth does not evolve.
Truth does not adjust.
Truth does not bend to sentiment.
Truth is settled.
And because truth is settled, unity must be built on truth — not on silence, not on diplomacy, not on emotional convenience.
3. TRUTH IS GOD’S PATHWAY TO UNITY
Many believers want unity.
But unity without truth is false peace.
“Can two walk together except they be agreed?” — Amos 3:3
Agreement is impossible where truth is ignored.
Jesus did not unite the Temple by overlooking corruption.
He cleansed it.
Apostle Babalola did not unite the land by tolerating idolatry.
He confronted it.
Unity is the fruit.
Truth is the root.
4. TRUTH IS GOD’S TOOL FOR PURIFICATION
Whenever God wants to revive His people, He begins with truth.
“For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.” — 2 Corinthians 13:8
Truth exposes.
Truth corrects.
Truth purifies.
Truth restores.
This is why the Holy Spirit is exposing long‑buried issues in CAC today — not to shame us, but to cleanse us.
“Judgment must begin at the house of God.” — 1 Peter 4:17
Purification is not punishment.
Purification is preparation.
5. TRUTH IS THE ONLY GUARANTEE THAT PRAYERS WILL NOT BE HINDERED
Many believers pray, fast, and labour spiritually — yet see no results.
Why?
Because the truth is missing.
“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” — Psalm 66:18
Where truth is rejected, prayer is hindered.
Where truth is embraced, heaven opens.
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper.” — Proverbs 28:13
Covering falsehood closes the heavens.
Confessing the truth opens the heavens.
This is why the Church must embrace truth now — so that our prayers for revival, unity, and restoration will not be hindered.
6. TRUTH WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL — BECAUSE GOD BACKS ONLY TRUTH
My brother’s final statement is correct:
“Truth will prevail because it is the only thing God will back up.”
This is the confidence of every believer.
“The truth of the Lord endures forever.” — Psalm 117:2
Truth may be resisted,
But it cannot be defeated.
Truth may be delayed,
But it cannot be denied.
Truth may be buried,
But it cannot decay.
Truth always rises —
Because Christ always rises.
7. MY FINAL WORD TO THE BODY OF CHRIST
Beloved, let us not fear truth.
Let us not fight truth.
Let us not negotiate truth.
Let us embrace truth,
Walk in truth,
And stand on truth.
Because:
“Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.” — Psalm 85:10
There can be no peace without righteousness.
There can be no unity without truth.
There can be no revival without repentance.
May the Lord give us the humility to accept truth,
The courage to stand for truth,
And the grace to walk in truth.
So that our prayers will not be hindered,
And our revival will not be delayed.
Amen And Amen.
JESUS IS LORD
