1. “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” 2. “Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” 3. “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. The one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” 4. “You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.”
