WALKING IN GOD’S WISDOM, WINNING IN HIS GLORY
Beloved Congregation,
As we gather today, let us be reminded that our journey of faith is characterized by a continuous pursuit of God’s Wisdom and Understanding. The ability to discern the times and align our actions with God’s Will is pivotal for His Glory and our ultimate victory. You are not alone in this journey, for God walks with you, equipping you to make choices that honour Him.
In 1 Chronicles 12:32, the Bible speaks of the men of Issachar, “who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” These men were celebrated for their discernment and wisdom – qualities that we too must seek. Understanding the times means recognising the spiritual and practical realities around us and responding accordingly.
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and lose sight of God’s Guidance. To navigate these complexities, we must turn to Proverbs 3:5-6, which advises, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Trusting in God with all our hearts and seeking His Wisdom ensures that we are walking in alignment with His perfect Plan.
Discernment also involves knowing what is acceptable to God. Ephesians 5:15-17 advocates, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish but understand what the Lord’s will is.” This passage reminds us to live wisely, making decisions that reflect our faith and dedication to His Teachings.
To be apt in discerning the times, we must also cultivate a lifestyle of constant communion with God. Through regular prayer, worship, and the study of His Word, we open ourselves to His Voice and Direction. Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” A renewed mind enables us to perceive His Will and Act in a manner that brings Him Glory.
In discerning our actions, we must also remember that our motives should be pure, aiming to glorify God rather than seeking personal gain. Colossians 3:17 encourages us, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Thus, let us remain steadfast in seeking God’s Wisdom and Discerning the times we are in. By doing so, we not only honour Him but also set ourselves on a path of true success and fulfilment. You are not alone in this – God’s Spirit is within you, guiding and empowering you to discern and act according to His will.
So, dear friends, be vigilant, be wise, and always seek to bring glory to God in your actions. In this way, you will experience the victory that comes from walking faithfully with Him. To Him be all the Glory. Amen.
JESUS IS LORD
