The terrible suffering and death of Jesus Christ marked the dramatic conclusion of God’s plan to save His people from their sins, which is why the name “Good Friday” is perfectly fitting. On Good Friday, we remember the day that Jesus Christ willingly suffered and died by being nailed to the Cross as the supreme sacrifice for our sins (1 John 1:10). It is followed by Easter, a glorious celebration of the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead, announcing His victory over sin and death and pointing to a future resurrection for those who are united to Him through faith (Romans 6:5).
