REGARDLESS

REGARDLESS

We might think to ourselves. God, where are you? when we are feeling particularly alone. According to Psalm 42:9–10, Why have you forgotten me? I’m under attack, so why do I have to go about my mourning? My foes taunt me throughout the day, asking, “Where is your God?” and causing my bones to bleed to death. This psalm comes from a person who feels forgotten and is mocked by others “all day long” amid their suffering. In addition to being afflicted by the words of those who are against them, they are in physical distress. Loneliness can become even more debilitating during times of suffering. It is painfully obvious that one longs for the support of others and, more specifically, for the presence of God. Keeping the truth that God is sovereign over everything and that He fills believers with His Spirit is crucial in these times. We must cling to the amazing truth that God is with us, regardless of our outward or internal struggles with loneliness, regardless of how difficult they may be (Matthew 1:23). Jesus Christ is ever with us. That’s it!!!
