Ordinarily, believers in Christ Jesus are not to struggle with listening to God! When you are compelled to listen to God, it is as dangerous as being disobedient to Him! However, this is not the subject here! For various indeterminate reasons, Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ, told the servants at the Marriage of Cana. I quote, “His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:5, ESV). Could this be a variant of active listening or an encouragement to be obedient to Jesus Christ so that they received the miracles accompanied by such faith for the invite the celebrants gave to Jesus Christ? For such a miracle of turning water into wine, obedience to Jesus Christ must be ordinarily complete. In this our day, it is clear that “Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not listen to them is that you are not of God.” (John 8:47 ESV). Christians are to obey God’s Word without any reservations. That’s it!!!
