Jesus is the true vine, the genuine Producer of fruitfulness. We should be established in Him, determining that we will prove to be fruitful for God. In the New Covenant people group, our first ID is in Jesus Christ Himself, not in Israel or even in the church in that capacity. Of the many prints of the connection among God and His people, the vine and branch picture underlines total reliance and the requirement for the consistent association. The branch relies upon the vine significantly more than the sheep relies upon the shepherd, or the child depends upon the dad. It depends on the shepherd, as the child depends on the father. As Jesus was about to depart from His disciples, this was important encouragement. In John 15, Jesus confirmed that He would remain united to His disciples and Him as branches are connected to the main vine. That’s it!!!
