ON “THE SMOKING FLAX”

The accurate Scriptural understanding of Matthew 12:20 will always call believers to immortal praise for those weaknesses and receive the strength to forge ahead even when things appear challenging! Smoking, the smouldering wick is in a precarious position. It is weak; the embers are about to lose whatever heat and light they had and be darkened forever. There are many people in a similar state—they have been wounded emotionally, spiritually, or physically. They are weak and about to lose all hope. But then God steps in. Jesus fulfilled the prophecy that the smoking flax He would not quench. It’s a prophecy that speaks of Christ’s compassionate care for the frail, demoralised, and exploited. Smoking fax, yes, a smouldering wick, in every context, is in an uncertain position. It is frail; the ashes will lose whatever hotness and light they had and be obscured for eternity. There are many individuals in a comparable state—they have been injured inwardly, profoundly, or indeed. They are feeble and going to lose all expectations. However, at that point, God steps in. The prophecy that Jesus satisfied is that the smoking flax He would not extinguish. It’s a prediction that discusses Christ’s caring consideration for the delicate, disheartened, and took advantage. Let the weak say they are strong! That’s it!!!
