ON “QUOTES OF THE DAY”

1. “A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion. The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.”

2. “Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. Making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”

3. “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.”

4  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”
