Craig D. Atwood said: “In Pennsylvania, white Moravians were killed by Native Americans. In Ohio, their Native American brethren were killed by white Americans. In both cases, the martyrs were men, women, and children who tried to follow the way of Christ in a violent and dangerous time, looking past differences in skin colour, language, and customs to call one another brothers and sisters. They were prepared to sacrifice their own lives rather than take the lives of others. While the Revolutionary War raged, these Indigenous Christians sought to follow the nonviolent Jesus.”
