ON “STRENGTH ALONE”

ON “STRENGTH ALONE”

Oh yes, by strength alone, no man can succeed. “By strength shall no man prevail.” Indeed, this is the conclusion Hannah has drawn from the contrast she makes between the righteous and the wicked. God “will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.” (1 Samuel 2:9b). Yes, Hannah’s conclusion recognizes that the lost think they will prevail without God!!! Before conversion, you will realize that you were not particularly strong, smart, or emotionally stable; you had no comprehension of spiritual deadness but only was convinced for many years that you would figure it out, and all shall be over within your strength. With such a pre-converted notion, you’re mistaken. You think you are strong, but not only are you weak, but you are also dead. You think you will prevail, but you will only fail; you can only fail. Come to God for today’s Grace! ” “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NLT).
