Eleanor Roosevelt once said: “It is better to light one small candle than curse the darkness.” Yes, darkness is a cursed reality if you care to understand such a statement! Particularly in light of what we know in 1 Corinthians 6:14 – “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?”(ESV). A Jewish proverb will say: “A little bit of light pushes away a lot of darkness.” I enjoy reading the view of Desmond Dudu that: “Hope is able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” Apostle Ayo Babalola once said: “The light in you will determine how great you are in the Kingdom.” Our Lord Jesus Christ said: “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”(John 8:12, ESV). Therefore, I remind you: “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16, BSB). That’s it!!!
