ON “WISDOM AND WEALTH”

Someone once asked me: “is it about wisdom without wealth that is satisfying or wealth without understanding that is failing”? In my understanding, wisdom and wealth are not unsuitable; that is, both are not incompatible! In Proverbs 16:16; “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather be chosen than silver!” It is a comparison between wealth without wisdom and wisdom without wealth. To enlist understanding is to be picked instead of silver: One should make the primary quest for one’s life to gain wisdom and understanding in the dread of the Lord. Indeed, this has an incentive undeniably more than gold or silver, yet it additionally frequently prompts material thriving as it accomplished for Solomon (1 Kings 3:5-15).
