Yes,  the fortunes of wickedness benefit nothing. We are helped to remember the story Jesus recounted the rich idiot (Luke 12:16-21). That rich blockhead accumulated incredible riches yet was not rich toward God (Luke 16:21). Righteousness conveys from death: Being direct with God brings an advantage that cash can’t accept.
