Yes, you need to see wondrous things of God to defeat death, self, sin and the likes. You need your eyes to see God’s wondrous works in creation and redemption. Is all about praying that you turn your eyes from worthless things. Remember, the psalmist, who prayed similarly have no eyelids or no muscles in his neck to become the head. Yes, the eyes are so small, yet they can lead the whole person, and often lead to destruction. The eyes lead the heart, lead the mind, and can lead the entire person. Your looking must not cause you to like the flesh and lusting. You don’t gouge out your own eyes or pray God to do it; instead, you must be courageous enough to look another way, a better way. The best way to look away from sin is to look at something else. The control isn’t so much that the eyes killed as ‘dismissed;’ for we have to have them open, however, coordinated to right possibilities, instead of worthless things. That’s it!!!
