Whatever attempts to divide God and us must die. With God’s love from above and our faith from beneath, whatever in the middle must be squashed. From this marriage of our faith with God’s affection rises a genuine individual. We should, at present experience battles. It is acceptable when we need to contend energetically, because then insidious is set between our confidence and God’s affection, and that is where it must be broken down. It is absolutely when underhandedness stalls out among God and me that I discover who I am, that I find out God’s decency in myself, and that I find out
