ON “NO ABIDING CITY”

A reference to a feeling that things are transient and don’t last or remain the equivalent. The New Testament much of the time alludes to when God will redo the earth: Jerusalem, the city where God’s name is especially regarded, turns into a picture of the new world request where God is respected for eternity. This is the city for which Christians long. “for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the coming one.” Hebrews 13:14 DBT
