ON “ACTIVELY BENEVOLENT LOVE”

ON “ACTIVELY BENEVOLENT LOVE”

Fyoder Dostoyevsky said: “Every day and every hour, every minute, walk round yourself and watch yourself, and see that your image is a seemly one. You pass by a little child, you pass by with ugly and spiteful words, with wrathful heart; you may not have noticed the child, but he has seen you, and your image, revolting and godless, may remain in his defenceless heart. You don’t know it, but you may have sown an evil seed in him,…

ON “THE LIBERTY OF ACCESS”

ON “THE LIBERTY OF ACCESS”

Yes, “there is liberty”. To Paul, It’s all really about the liberty of access. He is building on what he wrote in 2 Corinthians 3:12. Poole said: “A liberty from the yoke of the law, from sin, death, hell; but the liberty which seemeth here to be chiefly intended, is liberty from that blindness and hardness which is upon men’s hearts, until they have received the Holy Spirit.” For instance, today, we exercise incredible strength of discourse. Boldness is a word that…

ON “THERE IS LIBERTY”

ON “THERE IS LIBERTY”

The Scripture in 2 Corinthians 3:17 cannot be clearer: “…Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Paul’s reasoning follows this way: When Moses went into God’s presence, he had the freedom to remove the veil; the nearness of the Lord gave him this freedom. We have the Holy Spirit, who is the Lord. We live in the Spirit’s quality and freedom since He is given to us under the new covenant. Similarly, as Moses had the privilege…

ON “CROOKED WINGS”

Kahlil Gibran said: “Jesus was not a bird with broken wings. He was a raging tempest who broke all crooked wings. He feared not his persecutors nor his enemies. Free and brave and daring he was. He defied all despots and oppressors. He saw the contagious pustules and amputated them. He muted Evil and he crushed Falsehood and he choked Treachery.”

ON “THE PROMISE”

ON “THE PROMISE”

Yes, I mean, the promise of appointment. Which of it? “…to give unto them beauty for ashes…” Isaiah 61:3 KJV. Many are indeed going through in-depth loss, even the loss of loved ones, loss of a job, and substantial medical bills to pay. I say to you when you experience misfortune, and things take the breeze out of you, yes, it could be enticing to abandon life, yes, it could be easier to believe that you’ve seen your most significant…

ON “THE FAILED WEAPONS”

ON “THE FAILED WEAPONS”

Yes, how do you interpret the Scripture that said: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper…”? Isaiah 54:17a. Weapons fashioned against you are in vain. Yes, they have to design and launch their weapons against you. I say to you, those weapons wasted before they formed. Mostly, don’t be astonished on the off chance that you get a couple of snake chomps: a companion leaves, the organisation needn’t bother with you any longer. Take the antidote venom. “God, I realise You’re…

ON “THE SEEDS OF GREATNESS”

ON “THE SEEDS OF GREATNESS”

I was going to ask you a question; why do we see seeds as evidence of many things to come? Yes, everyone could see things today as challenging particularly with a global pandemic around us all. Nonetheless, reality poses another question of why do you think the enemy is trying to stop you? Why is it not possible for the enemy to leave you alone or ignore you? Yes, the enemy has no business with people of no real divine…

ON “BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL”

ON “BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL”

Yes, to David, in Psalm 103, it was a call upon his soul to bless Yahweh. It was as if David looked at his soul and understood that it was not praising God enough. He called upon his soul to do more. What of us? Are we doing enough to appreciate and honour God? Think about it!!!

ON “BLESS THE LORD”

ON “BLESS THE LORD”

Is it about more exceptional person bestows a blessing on a lesser person? I say, no. David, in Psalm 103 didn’t mean this as in a more noteworthy individual offers a gift on a smaller individual. God is limitlessly more noteworthy than man, and man would never give a gift to God. David implied this as in it favours and respects God when His creatures acclaim Him and express gratitude toward Him fittingly.

ON “DIVINE AND HUMAN SORROW”

ON “DIVINE AND HUMAN SORROW”

Henry Drummond said: “There is a vast difference between divine and human sorrow. True contrition occurs when God turns and looks upon us. Human sorrow is us turning and looking upon ourselves. True, there is nothing wrong in turning and looking at oneself – only there is a danger. We can miss the most authentic experience of life in the imitation. For genuine repentance consists of feeling deeply our human helplessness, of knowing how God comes to us when we…
