ON “QUOTES OF THE DAY”

ON “QUOTES OF THE DAY”

1. “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.” 2 “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” 3…

ON “PRODUCTIVITY”

ON “PRODUCTIVITY”

Yes, we have been convened to be productive – not successful, not practical, not accomplished. Success comes from strength, stress, and human effort. Productivity comes from vulnerability and the admission of our shortcomings. Biblically, productivity means living for Jesus, bringing people to salvation, helping others, feeding people, listening to people’s struggles… ultimately, it means being Jesus to others because for some, you may be the closest they ever come to see Jesus. 1. “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” 2 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for…

ON “CONTENTMENT”

ON “CONTENTMENT”

Yes, contentment is all about having satisfying wealth! It’s a capacity to determine what is enough! Yes, contentment discerns what is enough. What is enough profit? Pay? Hours engaged? Conservations and or savings accumulated? House size? Possessions? Given that none of us has an accurate gauge on what is sufficient and excessive, we will need help from others. ON “LOVED, SAVED, KEPT, AND KNOWN”

Amy Carmichael said: “Many have forgotten that unofficial witness-bearing used to be the chief way by which the good news went around the world. I tell you, and you believe and receive and tell someone else, and he tells others. Frank, vital telling in ordinary language that the Lord Jesus Christ lives and loves, can save and keep, and can be known as a real friend, and is a Master who gives real orders and strength to carry them out…

1. “A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion. The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.” 2 “Making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding if you seek it like silver and search for it…

ON “SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING”

ON “SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING”

In John 7:16, and I quote: “Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.” Jesus was an eloquent, gifted teacher, but He was not self-taught; Jesus was God enlightened. His sovereignty was not from any man, but from His Father. Jesus didn’t claim to be self-taught; He claimed to be God-taught, essentially inviting His listeners to examine His teachings according to the Scriptures. There is a tremendous spiritual principle behind the words, If…

ON “WORKING AT HOME, AGAIN”

ON “WORKING AT HOME, AGAIN”

C. R. Wiley said: “Working from home comes pretty naturally. Some complaint about being around their kids all day: I can’t help but infer that they either don’t like their kids much or don’t know how to control them. But for the rest of us, being around the kids all day feels pretty natural too. Working productively from home was so common in the old days that they had a name for it – economy, from the Greek word for…
