Between Wednesday 26 and Friday 28 August 2026, during our Digital Gethsemane Prayer Network’s three‑day fasting and prayer retreat, the Holy Spirit led me into a profound meditation on the Scriptures. In that consecrated atmosphere of prayer, silence, and spiritual attentiveness, the Lord directed my heart to two passages—Matthew 25:1–13 and 1 Corinthians 1:10–25. These Scriptures, illuminated with unusual clarity, spoke directly to the present condition of the Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas. They confronted the divisions, the disobedience, the spiritual negligence, and the lack of responsiveness that have characterised the General Executive Council faction. They summoned CAC Nigeria and Overseas back to the Ancient Landmark of truth, holiness, and covenantal order.

The Word of God is never silent when His Church drifts. It speaks with prophetic urgency, calling leaders to repentance, calling the flock to vigilance, and calling the entire household of faith to return to the foundations laid by the Holy Spirit. In these three days of fasting and prayer, the Lord made it clear that CAC Nigeria and Overseas is standing at a crossroads. One path leads to revival, restoration, and covenant fidelity. The other leads to confusion, division, and spiritual decay. The choice before us is not administrative; it is spiritual. It is not political; it is prophetic. It is not optional; it is imperative.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins: A Warning to a Sleeping Church

In Matthew 25:1–13, Jesus presents the parable of the ten virgins—five wise and five foolish. The wise virgins carried oil in their lamps, prepared for the arrival of the bridegroom. The foolish virgins carried lamps without oil, confident in appearance but empty in substance. When the bridegroom delayed, all ten slept. But only the wise awoke ready. The foolish, unprepared and negligent, missed the visitation of the Lord.

This parable is a prophetic indictment of the General Executive Council faction. Like the foolish virgins, they carry the outward lamp of administration but lack the inward oil of obedience. They possess the structures of leadership but not the substance of truth. They have built monuments, staged premature celebrations, manipulated historical dates, and occupied properties unlawfully, yet they have not carried the oil of repentance, humility, and submission to the Holy Spirit. The Lord’s warning—“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh”—is a summons to responsiveness. But responsiveness requires obedience, and obedience requires truth.

The foolish virgins missed the bridegroom because they refused preparation. The General Executive Council faction is missing the move of the Holy Spirit today because they refuse repentance. They refuse constitutional truth. They refuse ecclesiastical order. They refuse the Ancient Landmark established by the 1943 Articles of Association and the 1985 Certificate of Incorporation. They refuse the prophetic witness of history. They refuse the unity of One Fold One Shepherd. They refuse the oil.

The wise virgins represent those who honour truth, uphold covenantal order, and remain spiritually vigilant. The foolish represent those who rely on outward form without inward substance. The General Executive Council faction has chosen outward form. They have chosen administrative lamps without spiritual oil. They have chosen political manoeuvring without prophetic obedience. They have chosen factional identity without covenantal truth. They have chosen noise without repentance. They have chosen lamps without oil.

Paul’s Rebuke to Corinth: The Evil of Divisions

In 1 Corinthians 1:10–25, Paul confronts the divisions tearing the Corinthian church apart. He appeals to them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that they all speak the same thing, that there be no divisions among them, and that they be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement. Paul rebukes them sharply: “Is Christ divided?” His message was clear—division is not a sign of strength but of carnality. It is not a mark of spiritual maturity but of spiritual immaturity. It is not a demonstration of loyalty but of rebellion.

Paul’s rebuke applies directly to the General Executive Council faction. Their refusal to yield to the Holy Spirit’s call for unity, truth, and repentance is a manifestation of the same Corinthian spirit of division. Their insistence on factional identity, their manipulation of history, their distortion of CAC’s constitutional foundation, and their unlawful occupation of properties such as Anlugbua reveal a leadership more committed to factional dominance than to the unity of Christ.

Paul declares: “Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” The General Executive Council faction has relied on the wisdom of words—legal manoeuvres, administrative rhetoric, historical distortions, and political strategies. But the Cross of Christ is made of none effect when truth is sacrificed for convenience. Paul continues: “The preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” The refusal of the General Executive Council faction to submit to truth is not intellectual disagreement; it is spiritual foolishness. It is rebellion against the power of God.

Paul further declares that God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and the weak things of the world to confound the mighty. This divine principle exposes the emptiness of the General Executive Council’s reliance on numbers, influence, and administrative machinery. God does not honour numbers; He honours truth. He does not honour political strength; He honours covenant fidelity. He does not honour factional dominance; He honours obedience.

The Ancient Landmark: A Covenant That Cannot Be Rewritten

The Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas must return to the Ancient Landmark. This is not a nostalgic appeal; it is a covenantal imperative. The Ancient Landmark is the foundation laid by the Holy Spirit through the revival of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the constitutional order established in 1943, the legal identity affirmed in 1985, and the ecclesiastical authority of One Fold One Shepherd. It is the landmark of truth, holiness, discipline, and apostolic fire.

The General Executive Council faction has attempted to redraw this landmark. They have staged a false centenary in 2018. They have misused 1918 as a deceptive historical anchor. They have ignored court orders. They have occupied Anlugbua unlawfully. They have resisted constitutional truth. They have rejected ecclesiastical authority. They have divided the flock. They have scattered the sheep.

But Scripture warns: “Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.” (Proverbs 22:28). The Ancient Landmark is not a suggestion; it is a divine boundary. To move it is to invite judgement. To distort it is to provoke God. To ignore it is to scatter the flock.

Reformed Renewal Theology: Returning to the Covenant of Light

Reformed renewal theology insists that revival is not a human invention but a divine intervention. It teaches that God restores His people when they return to covenant obedience, embrace holiness, and walk in truth. The Old Testament declares: “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34). The New Testament affirms: “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2). Renewal is therefore both moral and spiritual, both doctrinal and experiential. It requires repentance, truth, and obedience.

CAC must embrace this theological foundation, recognising that revival cannot be engineered by committees, celebrations, or monuments. It is birthed by the Spirit of God and sustained by covenant fidelity. The Church must return to the light of Christ, for He alone is the source of true renewal. As Jesus declared: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12). CAC must walk in this light if it is to fulfil its prophetic destiny.

The Lord’s Promise: “I Will Look for My Sheep Myself”

Ezekiel’s prophecy does not end with condemnation; it ends with hope. The Lord declares: “I will look for my sheep and take care of them myself.” (Ezekiel 34:11). When shepherds fail, God intervenes. When leaders mislead, God restores. When the flock is scattered, God gathers. This divine promise is the hope of CAC Nigeria and Overseas. The Lord Himself will shepherd His Church. He will rescue His flock from deceptive leaders. He will restore truth, revive holiness, and re‑establish covenant order.

Conclusion: The Covenant Shall Stand

CAC Nigeria and Overseas was born in revival. It must be restored in truth. And it will be sustained by the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The parable of the ten virgins warns us that only those who carry the oil of obedience will enter the bridegroom’s joy. Paul’s rebuke to Corinth warns us that division is spiritual foolishness. Ezekiel’s prophecy warns us that negligent shepherds will be removed. The Ancient Landmark warns us that covenant boundaries cannot be rewritten.

The General Executive Council faction must yield to the Holy Spirit. They must repent. They must return. They must restore. They must obey. They must carry the oil. They must abandon division. They must honour the Ancient Landmark. They must submit to truth.

If they refuse, Scripture itself declares that there is no light in them.

May the Lord grant CAC Nigeria and Overseas courage to stand for truth, humility to embrace repentance, and grace to walk in the light, so that the Church may rise again in purity, power, and prophetic integrity under the eternal Lordship of Jesus Christ.
