From Rebellion to Revival: Confronting Evil Ambition and Mobilising CAC Members for Wisdom, Unity, and Spiritual Renewal By General Evangelist of CAC Nigeria and Overseas Ojo Emmanuel Ademola

Introduction

For over three decades, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas has faced challenges stemming from rebellion, ambition, and fractured leadership. In this pivotal moment, the Spirit calls upon each member to rise with wisdom, humility, and prayer. The future of CAC hinges on a collective commitment to reject inherited division and ignite the flame of revival and unity.

The Rise of Evil Ambition and the 1990s Rebellion in CAC

The crisis that divided CAC into factions was not just administrative—it was spiritual. At its core was malevolent ambition, a desire for prominence, control, and self-exaltation that contradicted the servant-hearted legacy of the founding fathers.

1. The 1985 Certificate of Incorporation and the Forum Initiative

In 1985, the Supreme Council of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas undertook a strategic administrative update: the renewal of the original 1943 Certificate of Association. This move was not designed to centralise power, but rather to formally update the list of Trustees and strengthen the Church’s legal identity in line with national requirements.

The intention was to ensure proper documentation and continuity of governance—not to override spiritual authority or restructure leadership. However, over time, this administrative act was misinterpreted and misused by certain individuals, leading to unintended shifts in power dynamics and organisational control.

This development calls for sober reflection. As Scripture warns in James 3:16, “For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil practice.” The misuse of legal structures for personal ambition underscores the need for transparent governance, spiritual accountability, and collaborative leadership rooted in humility.

As CAC seeks revival and unity, it must return to the original spirit of stewardship and integrity that guided its founding fathers. Legal frameworks must serve the mission of the Church—not become tools for manipulation. Let every member and leader recommit to the principles of truth, service, and Spirit-led oversight.

2. The 1990s Rebellion Against the Unified Supreme Council

The rebellion that erupted within Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in the 1990s was not a reformation—it was outright insubordination. It represented a deliberate rejection of spiritual authority and a betrayal of the unity entrusted to the Supreme Council by the founding fathers.

Driven by personal ambition, certain leaders sought to restructure CAC to serve their own agendas, dismantling the spiritual oversight of the Supreme Council and replacing it with self-serving governance. This was not a move of divine inspiration, but of fleshly manipulation.

The pattern mirrors the rebellion of Korah in Numbers 16:1–3: “Korah… became insolent and rose up against Moses… ‘You have gone too far!’” That rebellion provoked divine judgement—and so too does any uprising that defies God’s established order.

Let it be clearly understood: ambition without divine calling is rebellion, and rebellion against spiritual authority is a breach of covenant. CAC must not sanitise this history—it must confront it, repent of it, and rise above it through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Forum Initiative: A Manifestation of Evil Ambition

The Forum Initiative, which surfaced during the transitional period of the late 1980s and culminated in the rebellion of the 1990s against the Supreme Council of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), was not birthed from a burden for revival or unity. It was a calculated movement, driven by evil ambition and sustained by financial influence, with the singular aim of hijacking spiritual authority and dismantling the Church’s divinely established leadership structure.

This was not a Spirit-led reform—it was a flesh-driven insurrection. The initiative cloaked itself in administrative sophistication, yet its core was rebellion against the spiritual oversight entrusted to the Supreme Council. It sought to enthrone ambition over anointing, and manipulation over divine mandate.

Such actions mirror the rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, who rose against Moses not out of concern for Israel’s welfare, but out of envy and self-promotion (Numbers 16:1–3). Their end was judgement—and so it is with every uprising that defies God’s order.

Let it be declared: revival cannot be birthed through rebellion, and unity cannot be forged through ambition. CAC must confront this history with truth, repentance, and a renewed commitment to Spirit-led governance.

I. Hijacking Leadership Through Financial Power

The Forum Initiative, which formally emerged in 1990, did not arise from a burden for revival or unity within CAC Nigeria and Overseas. Rather, it was a calculated rebellion, driven by evil ambition and sustained by financial influence, with the intent to hijack spiritual authority and dismantle the divinely established leadership of the Supreme Council.

It leveraged wealth and strategic manipulation to influence structures and personalities, aiming to override the spiritual oversight entrusted to the Supreme Council by the founding fathers. This was not a move of reformation—it was rebellion dressed as progress.

The prophetic warning of James 5:3 resounds: “Your silver and gold are corroded… You have hoarded wealth in the last days.” When financial power becomes a weapon against divine order, corrosion sets in—not just of metal, but of ministry.

Let it be declared with clarity: no amount of wealth can sanctify rebellion, and no structure built on ambition can carry the weight of revival. CAC must confront this history, reject its residue, and return to the altar of purity, prayer, and Spirit-led governance.

II. Rebellion Against the Unified Supreme Council

The rebellion that erupted in the 1990s was a direct assault on the spiritual legacy entrusted to CAC by its founding fathers. It was not a mere disagreement—it was a rupture of covenant, a defiance of divine order, and a betrayal of the unity that once defined the Church.

This rebellion fractured the body of Christ, birthing parallel councils and sowing deep confusion among the flock. What had been a unified spiritual movement became a battlefield of ambition, with loyalty divided and authority contested.

The Scriptural parallel is unmistakable: “Korah… became insolent and rose up against Moses…” (Numbers 16:1–3). Like Korah, the architects of rebellion were not driven by divine calling but by self-promotion and envy. Their uprising provoked divine judgement—and so does every movement that defies God’s appointed leadership.

Let it be declared: no rebellion against spiritual authority can birth revival. CAC must confront this history with truth, repentance, and a renewed commitment to unity under the Lordship of Christ.

III. Greed to Become What God Has Not Ordained

Many of the leaders who emerged through the Forum Initiative did not ascend by divine commissioning—they pursued titles and influence driven by ambition, not calling. Their desire for recognition and control, absent the seal of the Holy Spirit, led to spiritual illegitimacy and widespread institutional chaos within Christ Apostolic Church (CAC).

This was not leadership birthed in prayer—it was elevation fuelled by self-interest. The result was confusion, fragmentation, and a departure from the servant-hearted legacy of CAC’s founding fathers.

The apostolic warning in 1 Peter 5:2–3 speaks directly to this failure: “Do not be greedy for dishonest gain, but be eager to serve… not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” When ambition replaces anointing, disorder becomes inevitable.

Let it be declared: no man can appoint himself to a spiritual office without divine sanction. CAC must reject every illegitimate elevation and return to the altar of consecration, humility, and Spirit-led leadership.

Prophetic Discernment from the Remnant Movement

The Remnant Movement rightly discerns that:

“The new Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) must be born through the womb of prayers—not through manipulation, rebellion, or ambition.”

This is not merely a statement—it is a divine summons to every believer, every leader, and every assembly within CAC Nigeria and Overseas. The future of the Church cannot be built on the ruins of ambition or the scaffolding of influence. It must be birthed in brokenness, sustained by intercession, and led by the Holy Spirit.

A Sacred Call to Revival and Restoration

This is a solemn call to every member of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas—to rise above inherited dysfunction and embrace the pathway of divine renewal. The Remnant Movement declares:

• Renounce every parasitic ambition that exalts man above God and contaminates the purity of divine calling.

• Repent of every hijack of spiritual authority through money, manipulation, or self-promotion, and return to the fear of the Lord.

• Return to the altar of prayer and brokenness, where true revival is conceived, and lasting unity is restored.

Let the Church no longer be driven by ambition, but by intercession. Let every heart tremble at the Word of God, and every assembly become a womb for revival.

Scriptural Mandate for Restoration: A Prophetic Charge to CAC

The time for compromise is over. The time for revival is now. The new Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) must rise—not on the scaffolding of politics or ambition, but on the unshakable foundation of humility, prayer, and Spirit-led obedience.

Heaven’s Blueprint for Restoration:

• Isaiah 66:2 – “These are the ones I look on with favour: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.”

• Acts 1:14 – “They all joined together constantly in prayer…”

• 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people… will humble themselves and pray… I will heal their land.”

This is not optional. This is divine protocol. If CAC will be healed, it must first be humbled. If revival is to come, it must be birthed in brokenness. If unity is to be restored, it must be forged in the fire of intercession.

Let this be the posture of the new CAC—humble before God, prayerful in spirit, and led by the Holy Ghost. Let the Church arise—not by force, but by fire. Let every member become a womb for revival, a vessel of unity, and a guardian of truth.

The new CAC is not a political project—it is a prophetic rebirth. And it begins now, on our knees.

“Let the Church arise—not by the power of money, but by the power of the Spirit. Let every ambition bow to the Lordship of Christ. Let the womb of prayer birth a purified, unified, and Spirit-filled CAC. Amen.”

3. The Sin of Self-Appointment in Sacred Spaces

One of the most grievous errors that deepened the crisis within CAC Nigeria and Overseas was the widespread pursuit of ecclesiastical titles, influence, and recognition without divine commissioning. Many individuals, driven by ambition rather than calling, sought positions of authority not through the altar of prayer, but through the corridors of politics, manipulation, and self-promotion.

The sacred offices of the Church—whether pastoral, prophetic, Evangelistic, or administrative—are not prizes to be won, nor platforms for personal elevation. They are divine assignments, entrusted only to those whom God Himself has called, consecrated, and prepared.

Yet in the wake of rebellion and fragmentation, the pursuit of spiritual leadership became a competition, not a calling. Men jostled for titles, formed alliances, and built influence, often bypassing the process of divine approval. This led to spiritual illegitimacy, doctrinal confusion, and institutional chaos—where the voice of God was drowned out by the noise of ambition.

The Word of God speaks with piercing clarity in Hebrews 5:4: “No one takes this honour upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aaron was.”

This is not a suggestion—it is a divine standard. To violate it is to invite disorder, deception, and decline. When men appoint themselves, the Church suffers. When God appoints His servants, the Church flourishes.

A Prophetic Charge to CAC

Let it be declared with boldness: no man can appoint himself to a spiritual office without divine sanction. No structure built on ambition can carry the weight of revival. No title assumed without calling will bear lasting fruit. The new Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) must be purged of self-made mantles and restored to Spirit-led leadership. Let every aspiring leader return to the altar of consecration. Let every member discern the difference between charisma and calling, between popularity and anointing.

This is the hour for consecration—not competition. For commissioning—not campaigning. For revival—not recognition.

The Remnant Movement rightly discerns that the new CAC must be born through the womb of prayers. It cannot be forged through manipulation, rebellion, or ambition. To move forward, we must renounce every evil ambition that seeks power over service, every rebellion that undermines spiritual authority, and every greed that distorts divine calling. We must embrace brokenness before God, for as Psalm 51:17 declares, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit.” We must pursue unity in the Spirit, as exhorted in Ephesians 4:2–3: “Be completely humble and gentle… make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit.” And we must return to the place of intercession, for Acts 1:14 reminds us, “They all joined together constantly in prayer.”

This is the posture of the new CAC—humble, prayerful, and Spirit-led. Let the Church arise, not by force, but by fire. Let every member become a womb for revival, a vessel of unity, and a guardian of truth. The new CAC is not a political project—it is a prophetic rebirth. And it begins now, on our knees.

Prophetic Declaration for the New CAC

“We renounce every ambition that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. We reject every rebellion that divides the Body of Christ. We embrace the Cross, the Spirit, and the unity of the saints. Let the womb of prayer birth a new CAC—pure, prophetic, and powerful. Amen.”

A Call to Wisdom, Revival, and Unity: Mobilising the Membership of CAC Nigeria and Overseas

For over three decades, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) has endured a painful crisis—fuelled by rebellion, ambition, and spiritual negligence—that fractured its once unified body. But the hour has come for healing. The Remnant Movement declares: The new CAC must be born through the womb of prayers, not the machinery of ambition.

This is not a call to leaders alone—it is a summons to every member to rise as wise stewards, agents of revival, and builders of unity.

The crisis deepened through destructive habits: evil ambition that hijacked leadership through financial influence; rebellion that defied spiritual authority; greed for titles without divine calling; and factionalism that exalted personalities over Christ. These patterns mirror the rebellion of Korah (Numbers 16) and contradict the humility of Christ (Philippians 2:3, Hebrews 5:4, 1 Corinthians 1:13).

Yet hope remains. The new CAC must be defined by servant-hearted membership, Spirit-led intercession, true unity birthed by the Holy Ghost, repentance from past blunders, and the empowerment of emerging leaders. These are the pillars of revival, grounded in Matthew 20:26, Acts 1:14, Ephesians 4:3, Psalm 51:17, and 2 Timothy 2:2.

Let the Church arise—not by force, but by fire. Let every heart return to the altar. The new CAC is not a political project—it is a prophetic rebirth. And it begins now, on our knees.

A Prophetic Invitation to All CAC Members

“Let every member of CAC become a wise builder—not a blind follower of broken systems. Let us reject the habits of rebellion, greed, and division. Let us embrace the habits of humility, prayer, and unity. The new CAC will not be born by force—but by the fire of intercession and the breath of the Holy Spirit.”

Final Charge: Be the Revival You Pray For

Let every member of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) hear this clarion call: The time for silence is over. The time for spiritual awakening is now.

We must pray away every parasite of ambition—those subtle cravings for power, position, and recognition that have corrupted the purity of divine calling. Ambition without consecration is rebellion in disguise. Let every altar be cleansed, and every heart realigned with the will of God.

We must renounce every inherited blunder—the errors, compromises, and manipulations passed down through fractured leadership and misguided loyalties. What was tolerated in the past must be repented of in the present. The new CAC cannot be built on the ruins of rebellion.

We must seek again the power of the Holy Spirit—not as a theological concept, but as a living fire. Programmes cannot replace Pentecost. Committees cannot substitute for consecration. Let the Church cry out once more for fresh oil, divine direction, and supernatural boldness.

And above all, we must become the womb through which the new CAC is born—a people of prayer, purity, and prophetic vision. Revival will not come through politics or persuasion. It will come through travail. Through brokenness. Through Spirit-led obedience.

This is the hour of rebirth.

Let the Church arise—not by force, but by fire.

Let every member become a vessel of unity, a guardian of truth, and a carrier of revival.

The new CAC is not a political project—it is a prophetic movement.

And it begins now, on our knees.

Conclusion

The new CAC will not be built by ambition or politics, but by prayerful hearts and Spirit-led members. Let every believer become a womb for revival, a vessel of unity, and a guardian of truth. The Remnant Movement declares: Now is the time to pray away every parasite and birth the Church anew—pure, prophetic, and powerful.
