TRUSTING THE GIVER, NOT JUST THE GIFT
Beloved in Christ,
There is a saying: your need remains your need, and your want is what you want. It sounds almost tautological, yet it speaks to the heart of our spiritual journey.
We live in a world that constantly tells us to want more—more comfort, more success, more recognition. But Jesus Christ calls us to a different way. He calls us to trust in God as the Giver of gifts and the Gift Himself.
When we focus on our needs—actual needs—we find that they are met in Christ. We need forgiveness, and He offers it freely. We need peace, and He breathes it upon us. We need hope, and He anchors it in eternity.
Wants, however, can lead us astray if we are not careful. They can become idols, distractions, and even burdens. But when we lay them at the feet of the Lord, we find freedom. We find that our deepest desires are not for things but for Him.
So let us live with open hands and grateful hearts. Let us seek first the Kingdom of God, and trust that all else will be added in accordance with His will. Amen.
JESUS IS LORD
