As believers, we are called to a deep and intimate relationship with God above all else. Our Creator desires a personal connection with each of us, where we can rest in His Presence, seek His Guidance, and experience His unconditional Love.

In the Bible, we read of the Israelites’ struggle with idolatry, forsaking the true God for false gods and idols. Their journey is a powerful reminder of prioritising our relationship with God above all else. In Jeremiah 2:13, God laments, “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

When we focus on our relationship with God, He empowers us to overcome all life challenges and obstacles. We are reminded of the words of James 4:8, “Come near to God and He will come near to you.”

Let us heed the call to prioritise our relationship with God above all else, for in doing so, we receive His Rewards of peace, joy, and eternal intimacy. May we guard against idolatry and fix our eyes on the One who loves us unconditionally and calls us His Own.
