1. “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.” 2. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” 3. “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” 4. “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
