THE RENEWAL OF THE NEW SELF
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today we are reminded of the exhortation to put off our old selves with its sinful practices and to put on the new self, being renewed in knowledge after the image of our Creator. As we strive to live a life that pleases God, let us not deceive one another with lies, but instead, embrace the truth of who we are in Christ.
In this new self, there is no distinction between Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free. We are all one in Christ Jesus, united by His love and grace. Let us treat one another with honesty, kindness, and respect, reflecting the image of our Creator in our interactions.
May we remember that as we put on the new self, we are called to live in harmony with our brothers and sisters in Christ, loving one another as Christ has loved us. Let us strive to be shining examples of His love, truth, and unity in a world that desperately needs to see the transformative power of the Gospel. Amen.
