LIVING A BLESSED LIFE
Being blessed means to live a truly blessed life in God’s eyes. Being blessed goes beyond just receiving material blessings or worldly success. It is about living a life that is pleasing to God and aligned with His will. It means you are blessed that is why you are receiving those blessings and not vice versa.
In Matthew 5:3-12, known as the Beatitudes, Jesus Christ lays out the characteristics of those who are truly blessed in God’s sight. He says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth…” These verses challenge us to reevaluate our understanding of what it means to be blessed and to seek after the qualities that God values.
Living a blessed life is not about material wealth or worldly success, but about living with humility, meekness, and a heart that is aligned with God’s will. It is about seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, knowing that all other things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). When we live in alignment with God’s will and seek after the characteristics outlined in the Beatitudes, we can truly experience the abundant blessings that come from living a life that is pleasing to Him.
