David seeks Yahweh’s Guidance and is directed to Hebron, where he is anointed king over Judah. The men of Jabesh Gilead are blessed for their loyalty to Saul, while Abner sets up Ishbosheth as king over Israel, revealing division. Yet David’s anointing marks the beginning of God’s Chosen Reign.

> “The men of Judah came, and they anointed David as king over the people of Judah.” (2 Samuel 2:4)

Mary visits Elizabeth, who is filled with the Holy Spirit. The child in her womb leaps, and Elizabeth blesses Mary for believing the Word of God. Mary responds with praise, declaring her soul magnifies Yahweh and her spirit rejoices in God her Saviour.

> “My soul praises the greatness of Yahweh. My spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.” (Luke 1:46–47)

The Psalmist pleads with Yahweh to stir up His Strength and save His People. He prays for the vine planted by God, now suffering, to be restored. He asks that the people, once revived, will call upon Yahweh’s Name and never turn away.

 “Restore us, O Yahweh Elohim Tsebaoth. Smile on us so that we may be saved.” (Psalm 80:19)
