Subject: Condemnation of the Cowardly Terrorist Attack on CAC Branch in Eruku, Kwara State

It is with deep sorrow and righteous indignation that we condemn in the strongest possible terms the barbaric and cowardly act of terrorism perpetrated against a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State. This heinous attack, which claimed the lives of three innocent worshippers and led to the abduction of our pastor and several congregants, is an affront to humanity, an assault on faith, and a direct challenge to the peace and security of our nation.1

We mourn with the families of the departed and pray for the safe return of those abducted. Our hearts are heavy, but our resolve remains unshaken. Violence against worshippers is not only criminal but deeply sacrilegious, and it must be met with decisive action.

We call upon all stakeholders—government authorities, security agencies, community leaders, and the entire body of Christ—to heighten vigilance and collaborate robustly in intelligence gathering and proactive security measures. The sanctity of worship spaces must be preserved, and those who seek to terrorize communities must be brought to justice without delay.

As a Church, we reaffirm our commitment to peace, unity, and resilience in the face of adversity. We urge the Federal and State Governments to strengthen security architecture, deploy adequate personnel, and leverage technology-driven intelligence to forestall future attacks. The time for reactive measures is over; we must act proactively to protect lives and uphold the freedom of worship guaranteed by our Constitution.

Let us unite in prayer and action, trusting God for divine intervention while working collectively to ensure that evil does not prevail over good. May the Lord comfort the bereaved, heal the wounded, and restore peace to Eruku and all affected communities.
